Q. What are the connection charges if I buy a Caravan Holiday Home?
At Holivans, connections to all main services on site will be arranged for you at no extra cost. Your Caravan Holiday Home will be ready for your first visit. On your first visit our staff will talk you through all the processes on turning everything on and off in your Caravan.
Q. Do I have to buy on the day I see a caravan I like?
We understand buying a Caravan Holiday Home is an important decision, so choosing the right Park for you is paramount. We would always advise you to visit those parks that offer the environment and facilities you are seeking, before making a final decision. If you decide to buy a Holiday Home on Holivans, our aim to is guide you through the purchasing process with no stress or hassle. So before you take the next step, we allow you to have a 7 day “cooling-off” period to reflect on your decision.
Q. Can family and friends visit?
Yes. Most people share their Holiday Home with their family and friends and have a fantastic holiday. Your friends and family can come and go as they please.
Q. How many months of the year can I enjoy in my Holiday Home?
As a rule of thumb, the Park opens a week before Easter and closes on the last weekend in October, but please check the dates in Reception as they vary from year to year.
Q. Can I let out my Holiday Home to cover the running costs of ownership?
Yes. You can let out your Caravan to whom you wish privately. The Park itself does not get involved in subletting your caravan. All we ask is that people hiring your caravan let us know in Reception how many persons will be staying due to our Fire Safety Evacuation Policies. You will also need to comply with current Health and Safety Requirements which are detailed here.
Q. Do I have to change my Caravan every 5 or 10 years?
No. You can keep your Caravan Holiday Home for as long as you like, as long as it is kept in good condition throughout.
Q. What happens if I want to sell my Caravan?
Please come into the Reception and we will either buy the Caravan off you or you have the choice of selling the Caravan privately, which will be explained on application.
Q. Am I allowed a storage box?
Yes, you are, they must be made of metal so they are non-combustible. Storage boxes can be purchased through Reception. If you buy a box elsewhere, your box must be approved by Holivans. Storage boxes must not exceed 0.61 meter (2 feet) in width.
Q. Can I have slabs laid around my caravan?
Yes, please contact Reception so that we can approve your design.
Q. Can I have a new veranda or steps for my caravan?
Yes, all verandas and step must be made of metal. It is advisable that hand rails are fitted onto all caravan steps. Please contact Reception so that we can approve your design.
Q. Can I check on my caravan in the Winter when the Park is closed?
Yes, the main gate on the bridge is closed, but you can gain access to the Park by the gap to the side of the gate. There may be no services in the winter (water, gas, electric, toilets etc) as we turn the services off for the winter to prevent damage or unauthorised use. You are not permitted to stay in your caravan overnight.
